CSV to JSON Converter

Convert CSV to JSON with delimiter detection, quoted-field support and optional value type recognition.

About this tool

Convert CSV to JSON with delimiter detection, quoted-field support and optional value type recognition.

What this tool handles

The parser supports comma, semicolon and tab delimiters, escaped quotes and line breaks inside quoted fields. It can use the first row as property names or generate column1, column2 and similar keys.

Important behavior

Every data row must contain the same number of columns. Type recognition is optional and deliberately conservative; leave it off when identifiers such as 00123 must remain strings.

Private browser processing

The selected file and pasted text are processed locally in this browser tab and are not sent to the server.

How to use

Load a CSV file or paste its contents, select automatic or explicit delimiter detection, decide whether the first row contains headers and whether values should be typed, then process and download JSON.

FAQ

Does the converter support quoted commas and line breaks?
Yes. A correctly quoted field may contain the delimiter, double quotes escaped as two quotes, and line breaks.
How is the delimiter detected?
Automatic mode compares the number of unquoted commas, semicolons and tabs in the first meaningful rows and selects the most consistent candidate.
What happens when CSV rows have different lengths?
Processing stops with the number of the inconsistent row. No partial JSON file is offered for download.
Should I enable value type recognition?
Enable it for data that should become JSON numbers, booleans or null. Keep it disabled for codes, phone numbers and identifiers where leading zeros matter.
Is the CSV sent anywhere?
No. Parsing and JSON generation take place locally in the browser, and the file is not uploaded to the server.
